CONSIDERATION OF SUMMARY SUSPENSION OF LICENSE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE IN THE STATE OF NEVADA

- IN THE MATTER OF THE BME VS. H. N. Sundar-Raj, M.D., CASE NO. 00-5967-1

Mrs. Cohen stated that based on the Investigative Committee's allegations against H. N. Sundar-Raj, M.D., sufficient evidence exists to allow a meeting to be held without the mandatory three-day notice per NRS 233B.127(3).

Mr. Legarza reviewed the Complaint filed by the Investigative Committee and the proposed Order of Summary Suspension of License to Practice Medicine in the State of Nevada against Dr. Sundar-Raj, in which he is alleged to have practiced medicine while mentally impaired, which alleged conduct is detrimental to the public health, welfare and safety of Nevada's citizens.

Discussion ensued

Dr. Buchwald moved that the board find that the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the state of Nevada imperatively require emergency action and to summarily suspend Dr. Sundar-Raj's license pending the hearing of the matter of the BME vs. H. N. Sundar-Raj, M.D., Case No. 00-5967-1. Dr. Desai seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously, with the Chair voting in favor of the motion.
