The meeting was called to order by the Board President, Susan S. Buchwald, M.D., at 4:30 p.m.

 

CONSIDERATION OF FILING SUMMARY SUSPENSION OF CERTIFICATE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE IN THE STATE OF NEVADA

- IN THE MATTER OF THE BME VS. ROBERT E. CAMPBELL, P.A.-C, CASE NO. 97-0080-1

Dr. Buchwald stated that the emergency meeting was called as the matter impacts on the public health, safety, and welfare, and asked for confirmation from the Attorney General's Office.

Mr. Lychuck stated that based on the allegations contained in the Complaint filed in the matter of the BME vs. Robert E. Campbell, P.A.-C, Case No. 97-0080-1, an emergency situation exists allowing a meeting to be held without the mandatory three-day notice per NRS 241.020.

Mr. Legarza explained the background of the Complaint in the matter, and stated that he and the Investigative Committee recommend that the board summarily suspend Mr. Campbell's certification pending the hearing of the matter.

Dr. Baggett moved to summarily suspend the certificate to practice medicine in the state of Nevada of Robert E. Campbell, P.A. -C pending the hearing of the matter of the BME vs. Robert E. Campbell, P.A.-C, Case No. 97-0080-1. Mr. Scaramosino seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously with the Chair voting in favor of the motion.

Dr. Buchwald directed Mr. Legarza to have Dr. Hug-English, as acting Secretary, certify the signature of the President on the Order of Summary Suspension of Certificate to Practice Medicine in the State of Nevada, as Dipak K. Desai, M.D., Secretary-Treasurer, is unavailable.
